ABOUT THE FARM

This group of farms is located in the Dung K’ ho village in the Lac Duong District in Lam Dong Province.

The farmers are smallholders of 2 ha each. The coffee is grown at 1500 m above sea-level and is taken to a professional mill owned by the cooperative for preparation. All the coffee produced here is traceable down to the farm. This project was recognised in 2015 by the UNESCO as part of the “ Man and Biosphere program” and is designed to help the farmers to build up their knowledge in production and forestation to reach a more profitable output and produce a specialty coffee.

Mat Ong Van translates into  “golden honey” in Vietnamese. In the same association a group of producers has developed a fine yellow honey coffee. After removing around half of the mucilage mechanically, the coffee is sun-dried on patios.

Their farms are situated at an altitude of 1400-1650m, which is a rather high altitude for Vietnamese conditions.
